Half-Day Kindergarten

Monday-Thursday 11:15am-3:00pm
AND Friday 8:45am-12:30pm

This Kindergarten class is for children 5-6 years of age. The student/teacher ratio is 10:1. Heidi Tate, a certified teacher in the state of Washington, will be the main Kindergarten teacher. Core standards will include:

• Basic math concepts such as sorting, patterns, counting to 100, adding and subtracting to 10, and basic geometry (two- and three-dimensional shapes)
• Letter recognition, phonics and reading
• Reading comprehension by responding to questions, drawing a picture, and writing words to describe the story
• Art
• Science
• Social Studies

Your child will continue to work on problem solving skills, building friendships, and effectively communicating with others, including teachers. Each day includes class job responsibilities, Bible story time, snack time, lunch time, and time outdoors. Fridays will incorporate basic Spanish words and phrases.
